The TLAP definition of 'suitable person' describes the role which is defined in law as the 'authorised person'.
'Suitable person' is used three times in the Care and Support Statutory Guidance (paras 14.10, 14,54 and 20.23). In all three cases it describes the role which is defined in law as the 'appropriate person'.
The General Medical Council definition of 'suitable person' is a specific professional/clinical role which bears no relation to either the 'appropriate person' or the 'authorised person' roles.
